Deconstruction: Ads

So you can "Do Not Taxes."

Wow. These ads are all over TV and on a lot of apps that I am using at this time. I am sure we are all familiar with taxes and , whew, are they ramping up their advertising budgets during this time of year.

Luxury, enjoy life, do you, be what you want to be, do what you want to do, do not taxes. This is the tactic that TurboTax is using to get people to use their services for you taxes. Do what you want, let us take care of your taxes for you. Do not TAXES! They are hooking us by telling us that taxes are easy and not something you should waste your time on.

I guess my idea for how people may interpret this differently would be that taxes can become complicated and may be more of an exhaustive process if you have dependents, business related expenses, work a lot of different jobs, etc. TurboTax may not be a one stop shop for all individuals but it is sold as a one stop shop that can handle all tax situations.

I feel like they do a great job of hitting all facets of life in the brief one minute advertising they have. They show people dancing, doing yoga,  building a model, swimming, eating dinner, going on dates, gardening, and so much more.

The purpose is very simple. We all need to get our taxes done (two things in life that are guaranteed,  right: Death and Taxes). They make it simple l and easy to get your taxes completed and filed at a good cost.
